66 th TORONTO SPORTSMEN’S SHOW FEATURES TOP FUN OUTDOOR EXHIBITS!
With its return to the Direct Energy Centre after three years away from “home”, the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show (TSS) delivers a big show lineup offering fun and entertainment for the whole family, with exhibits for folks of all ages. Canada’s largest combined outdoors, fishing and boating show runs from February 7-10, 2013 and is offering some exciting initiatives bound to entice outdoor enthusiasts and newcomers to the show this year. 2013 highlights include:
Zoomer Radio Day
– February 7 On opening day, Zoomer Radio AM in conjunction with TSS is offering seniors a discounted rate for entry at $13 as well as incredible prize giveaways.
Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Hall
For those hooked on angling, the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show is joining up with the Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club for the first time. This respected group of fly fishing enthusiasts will be hosting their Canadian Fly Fishing Forum during the show and have also lent their name to the expanded fly fishing feature area which will now be known as the Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Hall.
Speaking of Wildlife
This brand new exhibit to TSS is Canada’s largest live-animal outreach program, traveling across Ontario teaching people about native wildlife and nature. If you’ve never seen possums, porcupines and beavers up close this is your chance to see, learn and gain an appreciation for these often overlooked animals.
Outdoor Adventure Zone
From camping to kayaking, canoeing to rock climbing, rafting to mountain biking, the Outdoor Adventure Zone offers something for everyone. Activities include a seminar stage and a marketplace for people looking to live a healthy and active lifestyle. Adults and kids alike can:
- Brush up on their climbing skills on the always challenging Adventure Mountain Climbing Wall
- Test the waters and their kayaking talents in the Big Water Adventure Watersport Pool
All-Star Dog Show
These free daily shows will entertain the whole family and showcase the Purina Pro Plan Dog Stars like the famous McCann Dogs and will also feature the Big Air Dog Jump competition.
The Ontario OUT OF DOORS Hunting Hall
People passionate about hunting and shooting sports owe themselves a visit to this 50,000 square foot exhibit, filled with manufacturers and retailers who aim to please. There's also a Hunting Seminar Stage and Archery Test Drive Centre for visitors to check out. On February 9, a new seminar presented by a panel of four women called “Targeting the Huntress” will discuss their hunting experiences and providing tips and encouragement to women who want to start hunting.
Birds of Prey
The Canadian Peregrine Foundation is returning to the Toronto Sportsmen's Show with their hugely popular and expansive display of live birds of prey. Take a Wild Turkey Course On Saturday, February 9, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters will be running wild turkey hunting courses with the Ministry of Natural Resources offering a test to those who wish to purchase a turkey hunting license.
Fish TV Zone Pro Fishing Seminars
This interactive area allows both young and old to experience angling seminars straight from the Fish TV pros. On top of that, the 40-foot seminar tank will allow everyone to visualize what’s actually happening underwater. Fish TV and your Ontario Toyota Dealers bring you the Kids Zone area where all the fun and action is FREE. There's two live trout ponds, so all kids can experience catching a fish. Free fish balloons, face painting, lanyards, and for live entertainment, the Toronto Raptors Dance Pac performing every hour and signing autographed posters. Antique Outboard Motor Display Get a peek at the classic outboard engines that ruled the lakes in the 1920s, ’30s, ’40 s and ’50s. A variety of vintage antique motors from early outboard motor pioneers such as Elto, Scott, Mercury, Johnson, Evinrude, Olivers, ChrisCraft and Viking will be on display.
