Lures and Tours Shoots Top-Bass Winners and Participants !

Coboconk-Canadian Fresh Water Summit saw plenty of excitement Sunday,September 9,as Top – Bass Top teams were awarded thousands in cash and prizes. Rosa Sharpe.Lures and Tours captured contenders and winners on film at this exciting year end tournament organized by Ted Gallone.

Going into the 2012 Top-Bass Classic, much speculation centred around the leading contenders: Dean and Cocks who won the 2011 Top-Bass Classic. Would they win Top-Bass 2012?  All teams who participated in this weekend event are to be commended for their tenacity, and true sportsman attitude as they dealt with the challenging ,and changing weather –smiling through the wind and rain.Weather conditions over the two-day event, offered anglers a real challenge, especially on the first day with a very dark rainy cold start. Then,Sunday the sun shone for periods, but did little to remove the chill from the air.

So who won?

Coboconk Ontario Canada - Fresh Water Summit Festival!

Coboconk Ontario Unique Port : Natural Singularity – Highest Canadian Navigable Water !

Coboconk – All Downstream From Here!

Coboconk, Ontario celebrates its natural singularity each year. In the serene waters of Balsam Lake, in the heart of the Trent-Severn Waterway, by seaworthy vessel. Whether you travel west toward Lake Simcoe or east into Cameron Lake, both ways are downstream from Balsam Lake.
Coboconk,City of Kawartha Lakes offers skippers four opportunities:
  1. Go east to the Atlantic Ocean,
  2. Go west to the Pacific Ocean,
  3. Go south to the Caribbean Sea or
  4. Go north to the Arctic Ocean.
What makes this most unique is the fact that from this point, one can circumnavigate the world, by seaworthy vessel, without ever having to travel on land.

While there are two higher global navigable rivers, after the Coon Rapids Dam, Mississippi River, and the Danube River where it connects with the Rhine Main Danube Canal in Kelheim Bavaria, Germany, the next highest point of fresh water in the world is Balsam Lake  in Kawartha Lakes.

Each year in June, Coboconk invites you to help celebrate Canada’s Fresh Water Summit, with a full slate of fun family activities. Several businesses have generously sponsored a page in Lures & Tours Sport Fishing Recreational and Tourism Directory to help more people find out about this unique event. Be sure to thank the following businesses for their efforts in promoting this unique Canadian natural wonder of the world.

If you missed the Fresh Water Summit Festival this year, you can snap a picture at the interactive sign and photo opportunity erected on the Coboconk, Ontario Municipal Dock on Balsam Lake at coordinates N 44 39.476N -78 47.815W .
